Renowned Ghanaian businessman, Mr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong has been sworn in as the Chair of the newly reconstituted College of Health Sciences (CHS) Advisory Board.
The 14-member Advisory Board made up of astute and diverse professionals will provide strategic direction for the College’s growth and governance. The reconstitution follows the expiration of the previous board’s tenure on 31st July 2025.

At a brief inauguration ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo outlined the Board’s mandate which includes guiding strategy, fostering external partnerships, mobilising resources and enhancing the College’s image. She urged members to align with the University’s five strategic priorities.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Ofori Sarpong pledged, “We shall use our collective knowledge, experience and skills to deal innovatively with the challenges to enable us to develop the College to its highest standards… It is assuring to know that the University is prepared to fully support us to deliver on our mandate.”

Other members of the Board are Professor Alfred Edwin Yawson, Provost CHS; Professor Samuel Antwi-Baffour, Dean, School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences; Dr. Jemima Araba Dennis-Antwi, Centre for Health Development and Research; Dr. Linda Amarkai Vanotoo, Physician, Ghana Health Service; Dr. Stephen Akafo, Alumnus of College of Health Sciences and Ms. Adiki Ofeibea Ayitevie, iFORA Group. The rest are Mr. Hilary Osei Boakye, Golden Star Wassa Ltd; Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo, Anglo Gold Ashanti; Mr. David Owusu, CEO Printwear Ltd.; Mr. Ibrahim Iddrisu, Representative of Junior and Senior Staff, CHS; Mr. Wonder Agudey Doku, Graduate Students’ Representative; Adwoa Pinamang Owusu Afriyieh, CHS Undergraduate Students’ Representative and Mr. Worlanyo Newton Torvinyo, College Registrar, who will also act as Secretary.



The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Ms. Ama Hinneh, Legal Officer from the Legal Affairs Directorate.
