He is currently the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ghana. He served as the Foundation Dean of the School of Biomedical and Allied Health Sciences of the University of Ghana and the second Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences. Prior to his deanship appointment, he served as Head of Microbiology Department of the University of Ghana Medical School, and also as Head of Medical Laboratory Sciences Department of the School of Allied Health Sciences, University of Ghana. He was the first to be awarded a PhD degree in Microbiology by the University of Ghana and was one of the three pioneering students who were enrolled for the Masters Programme in Applied Parasitology at the Department Zoology now the Department of Animal Biology and Conservation Sciences. He holds three degrees from the University of Ghana, Legon (a PhD in Microbiology, an MPhil in Zoology (Applied Parasitology Option and a BSc degree in Zoology with Botany (2nd Class Upper Division).
